Meet Ned.

Melton reCycles was born from a germ of an idea in an idiot’s head.

Fed up with seeing abandoned bikes at the tip and in local waterways, Ned decided that these unloved machines would benefit from some TLC and could be re-used.

The closing of the local Halfords, a warning to take a less active occupation and the need for some mental well-being were all factors which played a part in creating a shop where your unwanted cycles are transformed, made safe, and sold – with the profits benefitting good causes within Melton Town and Borough.

Opened in September of 2025, Melton reCycles now occupies a small shop in King Street. Although small in size, the shop offers a multitude of things to meet your cycling needs – from a full service of your machine, to repairs (using reconditioned parts where possible).

All of this is intended to reduce landfill, aid the environment, help people to live an active lifestyle, and give something back to the local community.

Please visit us in King Street for advice, assistance, or just a chinwag! We’re more than happy to help.
